Release of the Draft Report into the 2023 Sugar Industry Pricing Review
Notice Pursuant to Section 25B of the Prices Regulation Act
The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (“ICCC”) wishes to inform all suhgar industry participants, relevant stakeholder, and the general public of the release of the Draft Report for the 2023 Sugar Industry Pricing Review (Review).
The ICCC commenced this review on the 25th of January 2023. Based on all the submissions and comments provided by all relevant stakeholders in reponse to the Public Notice published on 25th of January 25th 2023, the ICCC has proceeded to compile this draft Report which contains its key findings and draft determinations regarding the regulation of sugar.
On of the key Draft Determination in the draft Report is for the ICCC to continue its current price monitoring arrangements in the sugar industry for the next five (5) years, commencing 1st January 2024.
The ICCC now invites comments and submissions on its key findings and draft determination in the Draft Report. All relevant stakeholders and the general public are requested to provide their comments and submissions on the Draft Report by 30th September 2023.
