PNG PORTS LIMITED’S MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TARIFFS, EFFECTIVE AS OF 1ST JANUARY 2024
The Independent Consumer & Competition Commission (‘ICCC’) would like to inform relevant port stakeholders and the general public that the ICCC has approved the 2024 maximum allowable tariffs that will be charged by PNG Ports Corporation Limited (‘PNG Ports’) as of 1st January, 2024. Additionally, PNG Ports may exercise the option to charge less than these maximum allowable tariffs.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TARIFFS FOR TIER 1 PORTS – THE PORTS OF PORT MORESBY, LAE, KIMBE, VANIMO AND SAMARAI. PNG PORTS CORPORATION LIMITED MAY CHARGE LESS THAN THESE TARIFFS.

The maximum amount that may be charged for the supply of a Berth Reservation Service during the Fifth Regulatory Year in respect of a particular vessel is the tariff set out in the table below.

Where:
A coastal vessel carrying cargo loaded at any place outside of Papua New Guinea will be charged for Berthing Services at the rate applicable for overseas vessel until such overseas cargo is completely unloaded at which time it will revert to being a coastal vessel. All berthing charges have been adjusted with consumer price index.

TRANSHIPMENTS (Tier 1 and Tier 2 Ports)

· Overseas Transshipment will be charged 50% of the normal overseas wharfing tariff. · Coastal Transshipment will be charged 100% of the normal coastal wharfing tariff.

These rates are the actual maximum allowable tariffs to be applied by PNG Ports on 1st January, 2024. These rates are GST exclusive.
